Panther Boy’s Golf All-SBC River Honorees

Congratulations to our SMCC Boys All-SBC River Honorees!

Freshman Joey Finneran earned First Team All-SBC River, finishing as the 6th best golfer in the division with a season total of 537.5 points.

Junior Pravir Gorty was named to the Second Team All-SBC River, finishing 13th overall in the division with 498.5 points.

Senior Blake Finneran capped off an outstanding season by earning First Team All-SBC River and being named the SBC River Player of the Year. Blake claimed the top spot in the division with 650 points, finishing 54 points ahead of second place. He won every SBC shootout this season along with the Sandusky Bay Conference Golf Tournament.

Congratulations to Joey, Pravir, and Blake on their remarkable seasons. We are proud of their accomplishments and look forward to watching them and the rest of the team compete at Districts this week!

Panther Boy’s Golf Captures SBC River Division Title with Season-Best Round

The St. Mary’s varsity boys golf team saved its best for when it mattered most.

On Tuesday at Eagle’s Landing Golf Club, the Panthers posted a season-low team score of 318 to win the Sandusky Bay Conference River Division title, showcasing the depth and consistency that has carried them all year.

Senior Blake Finneran set the tone with a medalist-winning round of 75, while teammates Pravir Gorty (79) and Jack Davis (81) each delivered career-best performances. Joey Finneran’s steady 83 sealed the four-player scoring, giving St. Mary’s the edge it needed in a competitive field.

The supporting cast also came through, as Leo Will (89) and Griffin Torrey (92) helped the Panthers place all six golfers inside the top 25. In fact, four St. Mary’s players finished in the top 10 overall, underscoring the team’s balance.

For the Panthers, the championship represents both a milestone and momentum, as the squad now turns its focus to postseason play.
