New Students and Families

Your SCCS Journey Starts Here!

We welcome your interest in Sandusky Central Catholic School and are proud to offer an education rooted in faith. At SCCS, we believe every child is a gift from God and focus on educating the whole child—body, mind, and spirit. Our dedicated teachers, coaches, and staff nurture each student’s unique talents and gifts.

STEP 1: COMPLETE APPLICATION FORM

Begin the application process by completing the online application form. Once your completed form is received, our admissions team will contact you to discuss how your student can become a Panther!

STEP 2: TEACHER RECOMMENDATIONS AND SCHOOL RECORDS

To gain a full understanding of your child’s academic background, we will review previous school records, including academic performance and attendance. Depending on grade level, this may include transcript evaluation, standardized test scores, accommodations and recommendations from current teachers or principals. All required documents must be received by Sandusky Central Catholic School before the student evaluation process can be completed.

STEP 3: SCHOOL TOUR

A school tour gives your student and family the opportunity to visit classrooms, meet teachers and staff, and become familiar with our campus and learning environment.

STEP 4: STUDENT/PARENT INTERVIEW

Choosing a private school is an important decision. At Sandusky Central Catholic School, we want to ensure families have the opportunity to ask questions and fully understand what it means to be part of the Panther Family.

The student/parent interview allows us to discuss our educational philosophy, academic expectations, and family responsibilities at SCCS.

Students in grades 6–12 are required to participate in an on-campus interview with the appropriate school principal. This meeting helps students understand expectations and provides an opportunity to ask questions of their own.

STEP 5: PANTHER FOR A DAY

Students in grades 1 through 12 may request a “Panther for a Day” shadow visit as part of the application process. During this experience, your child will be paired with a current student and attend a full or partial school day, allowing them to meet faculty, interact with classmates, and experience life at SCCS firsthand.

  • All preschool students must be fully potty-trained and meet the following age requirements:

3 year old preschool students must be 3 years old by September 30th.

4 year old preschool students must be 4 years old by September 30th

CUBS preschool class students must turn 5 before December 31st to enroll in our CUBS program.

  • Students seeking to enroll in kindergarten must be five or six years old by the first day of instruction. Students not meeting this age requirement will have to complete our Kindergarten screener as well as an additional pre-Kindergarten assessment. Once documentation is complete a time for kindergarten screening will be established.

Students 1st-5th grade will need to submit previous academic history, attendance records, third grade reading guarantee scores and standardized test results.

All required documents must be received by Sandusky Central Catholic Schools before the student evaluation can be completed.
